Learn about the science behind drug investigations

From Law to Lab_Page_1

Jason A. Pease, a special agent with the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency, works undercover and tries to infiltrate drug rings, to ultimately break up big meth labs, heroin rings and pill mills.

After he completes his work, the drugs are shipped off to Maria Pease, a chemist with the Maine Health and Environmental Testing Laboratory, to find out how people are making them.

The two [who happen to be brother and sister-in-law] will be guest speakers at 6 p.m., Thursday, April 14, at the Gracie Theatre at Husson University. This event is free and open to the public.

They will talk about the methods of drug production and distribution, and give us inside information about what they see and do every day. There will be a question-and-answer session after the presentation.

No one is immune to the epidemic here in Maine, and the more we talk about it the more we will understand.
